Students are working on a series of lab assignments throughout the semester. In lab assignments, they are encouraged to try their hand at creating within different genres of history communication. These labs are connected to reading and conversation about best practice examples. However, lab work in this context is not intended to produce professional-quality products. Rather, students are encouraged to think through the methods, material, and audience attached to different genres and platforms. Students are encouraged to think of these labs as a springboard to further coursework where they might be able to refine their skills.
